Bigger, better, bolder in 2014

Hello everyone, Welcome to 2014.

As this is my first Editor’s note for this year, Let me begin by wishing you all, our dear readers, friends, administrators and track and field stakeholders in Africa and around the world a Happy New Year.

We are excited here about 2014 – Our website is spotting a new look and we are going to be “bigger, bolder and better” this year  – as we welcome a few new faces to the ATAF team in this first quarter.

We also look forward to an exciting year filled with top quality track and field events on the continent. We have lots planned for the coming months starting from our coverage of the Africa Cross Country championships in Kampala on March 16th and three days later the World University Cross country championships in Entebbe, all in Uganda.

As a matter of fact, this is a good time for Africa. This year we will be in Marrakech, Morocco in July for the African Senior Athletics Championships and later the world party comes back to Marrakech for the IAAF Continental Cup (13-14 September) on African soil.

In between that, we will also bring you news, results and compelling multimedia from Gaborone, Botswana as African youths gather from May 22-31 for the Africa Youth Games (AYG) and in the summer from the XX Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland.

This year our foundation, the Athletics Africa Foundation welcomes its first set of trustees and our work to promote and develop a voice for athletics on the continent will take a new turn. In all this, we count on your continued support, loyalty and readership, as well as sponsorships, to continue to meet our lofty aims and objectives.

Once again have a blessed new year and may 2014 bring abundant joy and prosperity to your homes and businesses.

Best Regards,
